Demo

A free Steam demo for Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival has been available since September 17, 2026. It covers the opening of the story, the Labyrinth and the first encounter with the Scarlet Church. No console demo has been announced, and the demo is a separate app, not a head start.

What the demo is

The demo is a separate free Steam application (app 5184670) released on September 17, 2026. Its official description says it contains a taste of Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival in which you meet the main characters of the story, delve into the Labyrinth and face off against the Scarlet Church for the first time.

That is the whole first-party description. Everything more specific about the demo's length and scenes comes from players who have streamed or posted about it, which is why this page labels those parts partial.

⚠️ Unconfirmed. Reports from community playthroughs describe a substantial opening chapter with combat, stealth and puzzle sections, and a save-point system. These are consistent across multiple threads but are not a first-party scene list.

How to install it

Open the main game's Steam store page and use the demo download button on that page. Because the demo is its own application, it installs and uninstalls separately from the full game, and it does not require pre-ordering anything.

Save behaviour

Whether demo saves carry into the full game has not been confirmed by Saber. The demo has been reported to use manual save stations; the PlayStation accessibility descriptor for the full game also lists Manual Saving as a supported feature. Details of the save system are on Difficulty and Saves.

Reported issues

The Steam forum in the demo week carried a steady stream of technical reports. Treat these as community reports, not as confirmed defects: launch crashes and start-up failures on some PC configurations, stuttering on some hardware, a report of Windows Smart App Control blocking the executable, and a handful of clipping and traversal glitches.

The Troubleshooting page collects these with the same labelling, and PC Requirements has the official specs to compare your machine against.

FAQ

Is there a demo on PS5, Xbox or Switch 2?

No console demo has been announced. The Steam demo is the only one, and it is Windows-only.

Does playing the demo unlock anything in the full game?

No reward for finishing the demo has been announced, and the question is open in the community forum without a first-party answer.

Will demo progress carry over?

Unknown. Nothing official says demo saves transfer into the full game.

Can I stream the demo?

The demo carries content warnings at start-up and the full game is rated Mature 17+. Streaming platforms set their own rules for nudity and gore, so check the platform before broadcasting. The Content Warnings page lists the official descriptors.
